Windows NT Error 5: Access is Denied
The Windows NT Dial-up Networking 5 error, "Access is Denied", is an authentication error and is likely caused by an incorrect username or password or by entering a domain in the "Domain:" field.
- On the dial-up login window, type your username and password in lowercase.
- Leave the Domain: field blank.
- Click OK to dial.
This error will also occur if you do not have the connection configured to accept clear text authentication:
- Open Dial-up Networking and select the Phonebook entry for QS ISP.
- Go to More and select Edit entry...
- Click the Security tab.
- Place a tick in Accept any authentication including clear text and click OK.
